How to

...

Pick Inventory

There are 2 options to pick.

...

From Sales Order, create Whse Shipment, then create pick.

From Sales Order, use the Wave Pick to create:

...

two methods available for picking inventory in the warehouse, based on the sales order and zone requirements:

  1. Create a Warehouse Shipment from Sales Order

    • Generate a Pick Ticket according to the designated Zone.

  2. Create a Wave Pick from Sales Orders by Zone

    • Consolidate quantities by item.

    Move
    • Post the Wave Pick to transfer inventory from Pick bins to the Cross-Dock bin.

    • Post the Individual Pick

    Move Deduct
    • to move inventory from the Cross-Dock bin to the Ship bin.

    Whse Shipment

    • Post the Shipment to deduct inventory from the

    warehouse
    • Ship bin.

    Creating Wave Picks

  3. 98% of bins are pickable. We don’t want to have storage bins.

  4. How many Zones do we have:

    1. B2B

    2. B2C

  5. For B2B Orders

    1. Must pick from pick bins with B2B Zone

  6. For B2C Orders

    1. Must pick from pick bins with B2C Zone.

  7. Must use replenishment to move inventory from one Zone to the other. How?

  8. Allocation Status on the Sales Order must be Full, before a Wave Pick is allowed

Zones for Picking

  • There are two main zones for inventory management based on sales type:

    • B2B Zone for Sales Orders with Sales Type = B2B

    • B2C Zone for Sales Orders with Sales Type = B2C

  • We implemented a flow so that:

    • When a sales order is created or modified, the system will automatically populate the Zone field based on the Sales Type.

  • Replenishment processes should be used to transfer inventory between Zones as needed.

Guidelines for Pick Ticket Creation

  1. No Partial Shipments Allowed

    • All Sales Orders must have Do Not Allow Partial Shipment checked.

    • All Sales Orders must have Sales Type = B2B or B2C.

    • Ensure that the Allocation Status on the Sales Order is "Full" before creating a Whse Shipment.

    • For Wave Picks, all included sales orders must also have an Allocation Status of Full.

    • All inventory must be available in the correct Zone before a pick ticket can be generated.

  2. Inventory Replenishment Between Zones

    • Develop a report or view to help replenish inventory between Zones effectively.

Posting Picks

  1. For B2C

    , the Whse

    Orders

    • The Warehouse team can batch post both Wave

    Pick
    • Picks and Individual Picks together.

  2. For

    B2C, Whse team should post

    B2B Orders

    • Post the Wave Pick first,

    then
    • followed by individual picks one by one.

Only some shipments may be picked and packed when the FEDEX/UPS truck comes
    • This allows for selective shipment processing when the truck arrives, ensuring that only ready shipments are handled.

How to Ship

...

  1. Trucks arrive at the warehouse to pick up

...

  1. shipments.

...

  1. The Warehouse team should:

...

    • Print a report

...

    • listing all open shipments, sorted by Shipping Agent.

...

    • Use the report to

...

    • verify which shipments

...

    • are ready for pickup.

    • Batch

...

    • post the confirmed shipments after the truck

...

    • departs.

These procedures streamline the picking and shipping processes, ensuring efficient handling of B2B and B2C orders.
