Warehouse

To streamline supply planning, maintain a single warehouse named Main.

Bins

Create one set of the following virtual bins required by the system, even when there are two buildings:

  • Ship Bin

  • Receive Bin

  • Input Bin

  • Output Bin

  • QC Bin

Bins to Create

Create bins in the following ranges:

  • A000-A999

  • B000-B999

  • C000-C999

  • D000-D999

  • E000-E999

  • F000-F999

  • G000-G999

  • H000-H999

  • I000-I999

  • J000-J999

  • K000-K999

  • L000-L999

  • M000-M999

  • N000-N999

  • O000-O999

  • P000-P999 (after receiving, inventory must be put away to the Input bin.)

  • Q000-QN999 (Replaced by the one QC bin)

  • R000-R9999

  • S000-S999 (after receiving, inventory must be put away to the Input bin)

  • T000-T999 (after receiving, inventory must be put away to the Input bin)

  • U000-U999

  • V000-V999 (after receiving, inventory must be put away to the Input bin)

  • W000-W999 (after receiving, inventory must be put away to the Input bin)

  • X000-X999 (after receiving, inventory must be put away to the Input bin)

  • Y000-Y999 (these are bins that can be picked from)

  • Z000-Z999

Shelves to Create

  • P000-P999

  • S000-S999

  • T000-T999

  • V000-V999

  • W000-W999

  • X000-X999

Note: One item can have multiple shelves.

Receiving Process

  1. Receive into the Receive Bin

  2. Then create Put-away documents to put inventory away.

  3. For VMI Items:

    • Put away into the Input Bin (Shelves: T001–T999).

  4. For Raw Steel Items:

    • Put away into the Input Bin (Shelves: S001–S999).

  5. For Other Items:

    • Put away to Yellow Bins (stock locations).

    • Movement to Input Bin:

      • Create a Movement Document to transfer inventory from Yellow Bins to the Input Bin.

      • Optionally, use the Replenishment Function on Work Orders.

      • Print shelves by item on the Movement Document. These are the shelves in the Input bin

        • P001-P999, W001-W999

  6. Use Is YK Item or Is AQ Item to differentiate.

Work Order Process

  • Use the Replenishment Movement feature in the Work Order list to transfer inventory into the Input Bin.

Shipping Process

  1. Make-to-Order Work Orders:

    • Post output directly to the Ship Bin.

  2. Other Items:

    • Create a Movement Document to transfer inventory to the Ship Bin.

  3. Ship Bin Shelves: Y000–Y999

  4. How to differentiate AQ GF Items from YK FG Items?

    1. For AQ items, AQ FG Item is checked.

    2. For YK items, YK FG Item is checked

Receiving Process

  • Whse Receipt - Add these fields:

    • Packing Slip Number?????

  • Items can be picked from the receiving dock?

    • Anwere is No as of 11/1/24

  • Receiving team users will post the receipt of items from the vendor.

VMI Items

  • VMI Items are received by a non-warehouse team.

    • They currently understand how to receive these items.

    • And the “Auto putaway” flag allows the team to skip the putaway process.

    • Default to put away to Input bin

Quality Control

  1. Create a single QC Bin

    1. Do we need to create shelves: Q000–Q999?

  2. Determine when inventory is moved in and out of the QC Bin as per operational requirements.
